Contents include: 2 introductory sermons on Hebrews 5:12; 4 sermons on Romans 1:20; 5 sermons on 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 sermons on James 2:19; 4 sermons on 1 John 5:7; and 9 sermons on Matthew 5:48. All sermons preached by Mr. John Howe at his weekly lectures in London, 1690-91.

Material Features

Large volume of sermons written in fair copy with some marginal annotations. The sermons are preceded by a title page listing the contents. The lectures are numbered sequentially through the volume.

Other Note

Although several editions of Howe's writings were published in the 18th and 19th centuries, only the edition edited by John Hunt (1822) contains the items in these mss. (I.i.31-33), but they were apparently printed from different ms. sources (Congregational Library Catalogue).
