Title
Commonplace Book of Unknown Authorship
Shelfmark
MS II.e.4
Creation Date
ca. 1642 - 1650
Contents Note

The book was apparently begun as a commonplace book with an alphabetical list of topics, but the writer has apparently then turned the volume into a collection of religious texts, beginning with a discussion of proper preparation for the sacrament, followed by a number of sermons and expositions and disputations. One of the texts is John Cotton's "Briefe Exposition of the Whole Book of Canticles" (Wing C6410) first printed in 1642, which indicates the volume was begun after that date.
