The manuscript -- a large folio -- contains notes taken in shorthand by Thomas Akers of Mead's sermons from his parish in Stepney and then transcribed into this volume. All of the sermons in the front part of this volume are organized by a theme or subject announced in the first sentence. They are not based on exegesis of a specific scriptural text. Preaching dates are given for all sermons, ranging from 20 May 1694 through 9 February 1695 (Old Style). Beginning on page, 123 the sermons have a text.
