(old series: GEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-267)
Title
Sermons of Owen Stockton
Shelfmark
MS 28.31
Creation Date
ca. 1656 - 1680
Contents Note

Sermons by Stockton written neatly on small paper pamphlets (similar to some of Philip Henry's manuscript sermons). Only a few sermons include preaching information. It is possible that sermons written on more than one pamphlet were actually series of sermons on the same text.

Material Features

Each sermon is written neatly in one or more small pamphlets, formed by folding a single sheet of paper, which are held together with paper or metal fastenings. The hand is small but fairly legible. Each sermon has been assigned a piece number; however, this number appears only on the first pamphlet. When there is more than one pamphlet, the author has identified their order on the first pages as "1st sheet," "2d sheet," etc.
