Papers related to the proceedings of the high commissioners against Cornelius Burges, rector of St. Magnus London, for a sermon ad clerum preached in Hilary Term 1635. This is followed by the Latin sermon by Burges on Mark 9:50, with an English translation by the author on facing pages (pp. 54-155). Also contains a "Protestation" (pp. 156-162) and "Prayer" (pp. 163-168), as well as an account of their delivery at court (pp. 168-172).
Bought by John Brand at Mrs. Collins’ Exchange Alley on 15 June 1803. W. F. purchased it at Brand's sale and described the contents of the manuscript on the first two folios.
The year 1803 is written the inside front cover, so the volume must have been purchased by or donated to Westminster after that.
