A volume containing miscellaneous religious material including sermons, aphorisms, and letters, one of which was written by John Green and dated 22 September 1646 (ff. 39v-44r [Part I]). Most of the volume consists of undifferentiated notes on religious subjects from an unknown source and for an unknown purpose. The sermon notes entered for this volume are from the few sections with a clear header indicating the Bible text. The volume includes quotations from Michel de Montaigne (ff. 15r-21v? [Part I]) and medical recipes (ff. 58v-59v [Part I]).
The foliation runs for 68 leaves going forward from the front cover (Part I), and also 43 leaves upside-down and backward from the back cover (Part II). The materials in this volume are written in several hands. The three sets of sermon notes at ff. 13r-25r (Part II) are written in the same hand. On f. 1v, a name (Mary Sickinge?) has been written and crossed out.
This volume was formerly MS 1690.1.
