Contents Note

Contents consist largely of anecdotes, jokes and aphorisms. Also includes theological and scriptural notes, including extracts from books, such as Jose de Acosta's "History of the Indies" (f. 9r); George Wither's poem "Shall I lye wasting in despare" (f. 73v). Several items are dated, including a reference to Christopher Love's beheading, August 1651 (f. 47r). Signatures include Emanuel Gardinerus and Benjamin Pulleyne.

Bound in contemporary vellum. Reversed and inverted at f. 47.
