Contents Note

ff. 1-38 gives notes for a series of sermons on Chapters 1 and 2 of Luke's Gospel, running from October to February. The preacher is unknown. The first few entries are damaged extensively by damp and so are illegible. These sermons are not in Higgin's hand. ff. 39-93 give biblical commentaries and other assorted notes, and are potentially in Higgin's hand.

Material Features

Bound in tooled leather, 1 volume, 92 ff.; f. 73 onwards is inverted. Extensively damaged by damp. Damaged folios have been mounted.

Acquisition

Higgin left around 1250 books to Ripon Cathedral upon his death. They are now held by the Leeds University Library.
