Contents Note

Notebook bought for 15d by Robert Lovelace, vicar of Stondon Massey, Essex from 1628 and rector of Wormley, Hertfordshire from 1637. Notebook reversed from the back. Front flyleaf: "Homo deo, lutum figulo". f1.r = "Robertus Lovelace, praetium xvd Nil esto triste recepto, nil esto triste recepto, nil esto triste recepto." Another hand: "In all this book there follows nothing considerable or legible but oratio ad recentes de logica the rest seems to be notes taken from Dr Baylye as they were preaching."

Material Features

17thc calf with gold central ornament and ruled line over pasteboards. 157 x 104 x 33 mm, 128 leaves.
