A later hand has written in pencil on the following leaf, “First Sermon on Luke 10:56 [actually 9:56] preached on 19 April 1672 the last on p. 156 30 August 1674 by Mr. John Speldin at Kilnarno? (minister at Dregham)”. After 5 blank leaves at pp. 180, the rest of the volume written from the other side. On the reverse flyleaf, there is the owner's name: "Robert Patterson". This side of the notebook is separately numbered. There is a note before the first sermon: "These are the gleanings of Saturdays and Moondays sermons indirectlie wrytten & what is amisse Reader help if thou canst for my pen was slow & my memorie worse".
