Note

Glasgow Cathedral, known after the Reformation as the High Kirk. The cathedral was home to three parishes in the period, the Inner High Kirk, Outer High Kirk and the Barony (housed in the crypt). The Inner High Kirk parish was the parish of St Mungo's which met in the cathedral prior to the Reformation. A wall was put across the nave to allow the western portion of the nave to be used for worship by the Outer High Kirk, this congregation worshiped in the nave from 1647 until 1835. The Barony parish worshipped in the lower Kirk from 1596-1801, until a new church was built just across from the Cathedral.
