This entry comprises a manuscript sermon entitled 'In nomine Crucifixi' and dated 1648, bound in a copy of John Gauden, Eikon Basilike (London, 1649). Helen W. Randall has conjectured that the sermon was 'especially copied to be bound in what was perhaps a gift volume for Charles II'. See Randall, p. 141 n. 5.
Octavo. The binding is stamped with the Royal crown, the initials 'CR', and a Death's head on the front and the back of the volume.
The bookplate of W. H. Corfield is pasted onto the inside front cover of this volume. The signature 'J. H. Bromby' can be found on the title page of Eikon Basilike.

One of the opening flyleaves contains a handwritten note in pencil, which reads as follows: 'A Sermon under the same Title was publ[ished] by the Rev[eren]d John Shaw of the Hull Charter House'. The writer is referring to John Shawe, Eikon Basilike: Or The Princes Royal (London, 1650).
