Contents Note

This manuscript comprises an autograph visitation sermon (a presentation copy) by George Burhope. A dedicatory epistle addressed to John Egerton, Second Earl of Bridgewater and 'A Premonition' precede the sermon proper. At the end of the sermon, there is another letter from Burhope addressed to Bridgewater.

Part of the personal and domestic correspondence and papers of John Egerton, Second Earl of Bridgewater.

Acquisition

The Bridgewater House Library was purchased by Henry E. Huntington from John Francis Granville Scrope Egerton, Fourth Earl of Ellesmere, in 1917.
