(old series: GEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-1252)
Manuscript volume of sermons dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. There is no information given about the scribe's identity, the preacher's identity, or where or when the sermons were preached. Contains seven sermons followed by an extract from "Dr Sherlock in his practical Discourse concerning Death, p. 281".
The first folio of the volume gives all the scriptural passages that are discussed in each sermon and the text, acting as a table of contents. 314 pp. Bound in worn calf. The front cover has become detached. A note on the inside of the front cover reads, "Vol. 7 Sermons", suggesting that it was part of a series.
Bought by the Clark in 1976, from bookseller Smyth.
