Title
Sermon Notes of Sarah Savage
Shelfmark
MS Savage 1
Creation Date
ca. 1683 - 1700
Contents Note

Notes on sermons preached by Philip Henry in Broad Oak from 1683 to 1684, recorded by his daughter Sarah Savage. Notes on single sermon preached by Matthew Henry in 1700, also recorded by Sarah, are inserted at the beginning of the volume; they do not, however, appear as an entry in the index, nor are they bound in with the other notes. A note at the end of the volume indicates that there is a second volume pertaining to "the following year" (1685).

Material Features

Substantial notes on each sermon written in a clear hand, providing structure, detail, and supporting texts. The end of each sermon is demarcated with a row of curly-cues. From p. 106 on ink bleeds through, rendering later notes less clear than those that came earlier.
