Fair copy of auditor's notes of 39 funeral sermons, preached from 1663 to 1681, chiefly at Coggeshall but a few given at Feering. There are two indices at the beginning: the first listing the funerals by the person being buried, and the name of the preacher, the second gives the texts and a title, with notes stating "these sermons concerning..." In the back cover is a tally of the number of sermons preached by each preacher, and notes that 5 of these are from Coggeshall and 7 from other towns. This detailed notetaking is typical of Bufton.
Written in a very small but neat and clear hand. A long think pocket book, 5 cm x 15 cm with the gutter at the top. Bound in vellum with the numeral "VI" inscribed on the cover.
