Summaries of 93 sermons and sermon records preached by James Boys, John Livermore, rector of Markshall and Thomas Shortlands in Essex. On the fly leaf is written: “The first of these 82 sermons was preached November 26 1693 and the last of them on the 23rd of Jnary 1697/8 And in this space of time there were severall sermons preached which were the same (or very like) with some I had heard before; And Therefore of those I wrote here no notes at all. As there was two of Mr Livermore and one of Mr Thomas Shortlands But of Mr Boys’s there were ten of which Four were on Sundays Two of tem on Good Frydays, Two of them were at Funerals, One on a Thanksgiving, One on a Fast, Mr Boys’s Eleven Sermons were preached one on a Sunday One on a Good fryday, Two on an Easter Day, Two on a Christmas day, three of them on three Fast Days; The other two an Thanksgiving Sermon”. In reverse at the end of the volume is four folios "on the nature of the spirit", possibly copied in from a printed text. Written in a small, clear hand.

A pocket sized volume without a cover, 5 x 10cm. Entered in a copy of Rider's "British Merlin" for 1692.
