Contents Note

A collection of documents including the following: 1) A true relation of every dayes proceedings in Parliament, 20 Jan - 10 March 1628, ff. 1 - 46; 2) The Lords Petition to the King concerning Forreign Tythes of Honor, ff. 47 - 50; 3) Of Parliaments, 16 ff. 4) The Arch-Byshopp of Canterburie his funerall Sermon preached by himself on the Scaffold on Tower Hill, 10 Jan. 1644, ff. 3. These documents have all been taken from different sources and are in different hands, and have been combined at a later date.

Material Features

A large volume (10 x 30cm) bound in brown leather with gilt and marbled end papers. The cover is detached. Written in a clear hand. A note in the front cover in pencil states "This book was kindly presented to me by Samuel Parkinson who married Frances Alton of [] Warington the daughter of the Rev William. Vicar of Leigh, unto whose hands this volume seems to have fallen. Perhaps by gift of Gerry, the elder brother of the Revd. W". On the first page is another note: "William Farington's This book was found at Worden in Lancashire, & is a set of very valuable and luxurious papers, concerning King Charles the 1st & the Parliament in 1628"
