A commonplace book including: sermons and homilises (ff. 1r - 79r); Notes on Greek grammar (ff. 100v - 95r); Latin phrasese and grammar (ff. 91v - 86v); English Commonplaces (ff. 86r - 79v).

Material Features

A paper book with leather-covered paste boards and two clasps. 100 ff. 147 x 90 mm. Written in a rough hand. There are pages of notes pinned in which seem to be in a different hand.

Acquisition

Most of this collection is related to the running of Durham Cathedral. The series seems to have been begun in the early 20th century but most of the material has come in since c.1960.
