This part of the manuscript is puzzling. Mr. Greenvill is named as the preacher of the "2d sermon" on January 30, but it is not clear whether that information refers to this sermon on Acts 2:22-23 or whether it refers to another sermon (not noted) on the previous text, Matthew 6:10. As it is Powys's custom to take full notes of sermons, it is assumed that date and preacher's name belong to this sermon.

Location, date, and precise identity of preacher unknown. The sermon was likely preached in London, perhaps at Lincoln's Inn, where Powys studied and where he was later a Bencher. It was likely preached after July 29, 1660, the first dated sermon in the notebook. However, the exact year is not known. Sermons at the end of the notebook date from 1662.
