On f. 47 is written "This sermon was preached by the reveereant devine Mr. John Lightfoott; my worthy good uncle." At the end of the sermon is written "Scriptum per me Iosia Lightfoote. September this 7th. 1633."
Description
This is a copy in the hand of Josiah Lightfoot of his uncle Dr. John Lightfoot's assize sermon. The hand is very neat and elegant within double-ruled margins on four sides. The sermon is mounted on boards, one folio to a board and is in excellent condition.

The precise preaching date is unknown, but the sermon was copied in full by September 7, 1633. Location unknown, but at the time, Dr. Lightfoot was rector of Ashley, Staffordshire.
