The sermon was published as A briefe declaration of the universalitie of the Church of Christ, and the unitie of the catholicke faith professed therein: Delivered in a sermon before his Majestie the 20th of Iune, 1624. at Wanstead (1624), with a second impression in 1625, and a third in 1629. ‘The third impression, corrected and amended’ appeared in 1631 and can be found in The Workes of the Most Reverend Father in God, Iames Vssher, Archbishop of Armagh, and Primate of Ireland (1631), with its own frontispiece and separate pagination. This early collection of Ussher’s works was a composite of pieces produced on several presses. A fourth impression was published in 1687. The sermon can be found in The Whole Works of the Most Rev. James Ussher, D.D., Lord Archbishop of Armagh, and Primate of All Ireland, ed. by Charles R. Elrington and J. H. Todd, 17 vols (Dublin: Hodges and Smith, 1829-1864), WJU, 2:469–506. Fragmentary notes are included in CUL, MS Add. 69, ff. 130v–129v (reversed pagination). The account found in Balliol College, Oxford, MS 259, ff. 420r–439r appears to be copied from one of the printed editions of the 1620s.
