A prayer was added on 21 May 1727: 'O god ye King of glory, who hast exalted thine only son […] we beseech thee leave us not comfortless; but send us thine holy Holy Ghost to comfort us & exalt us unto the same place whither our Saviour X is gone before who liveth & reigneth w[i]th thee, & ye HG, one God, world without end'.
The sermon begins (fol. 5r) as follows: 'The Apostle that was the Authour of this Epistle, whether Paul, as is most probable, or anie other, which I shall not now dispute, spends this present chapter of it in a fourfold Exhortation to those Hebrew Christians, whom he writes unto.'

Written in a small, neat, italic hand, with catchwords at the bottom of each page. There is some use of Latin and Greek and some later insertions. There are also some underlinings and some marginalia, including Biblical citations, 'uses', references to other divines' works (e.g. Dr [Jeremy] Taylor, fol. 11v).
