The fourth notebook of the collection contains this sermon. The general occasion is specified as 'Trinity Sunday'. The sermon was also preached on the following dates at Coddenham: 19 May 1717, 8 November 1767, and 28 October 1770. It is conjectured by the Suffolk Record Office that the author of this sermon was Balthazar Gardemau. It is not certain who continued preaching this sermon after 1739, by which time Gardemau had died.
