Written in a very clear and neat hand. The manuscript has been designed to look like a printed book, with a title page, ruled margins, illuminated drop caps at the beginning of each sermon. The preface states that these sermons were preached "in or near the City of London". This sermon is on "Revelations XIV first part". Unlike preceding sermons the biblical text is not written out. Instead there is an authorial note: "To prevent and remove all scruples that may be in the minds of some persons, concerning the opening of this Booke of the Revelations: that it hath beene very little read, or preached upon heretofore, my answer is. (1.) It is part of the cannon of this true cannon of the rule of faith and life... (2) I so [the?] rather Desire to go on in the Exposition of this Book, because no Care was taken in the times of reformation, in King Edwards & Queen Elizabeths Days for the reading of this Booke... (3.) I have another reason, that wee are the people that live in those dayes, for whom this Booke.... was principally intended..."
