Contents Note

MS contains 34 homilies (a form of short sermon) by students in theology at the University of Glasgow, dated 1702-1707. A large number of the individual MSS are signed by their author and most have titles in a different hand, most likely that of James Wodrow. MS Gen 341 and 342 are a set.

Material Features

Leather bound volume containing multiple MSS of varying size that have been compiled into this MS. The endpapers are extracts of a printed work. The spine is broken and very delicate, the internal MSS have some fraying and marking but are in a good overall condition. There are no folio or page numbers but each MS within the volume has been given a number.

Acquisition

Part of a collection of papers of Robert Wodrow held by the University of Glasgow. The manuscript was acquired from Charles W Wodrow Thomson on 8th July 1891.
