Contents Note

This notebook includes notes on sermons likely delivered in Boston between 1660 and 1661. These notes represent sermons by a variety of ministers including Revs. Norton, Flint, Mather, and others. The last third of the notes stop indicating a preacher and date, so these may be notes of another scriptural practice rather than sermons. The notes may indicate multiple hands.

Material Features

Small notebook, written in a small hand, including some shorthand. This notebook is unpaginated and unfoliated, and, in approximately the last fifty pages, the writing proceeds on one side of each page and then continues in reverse. "Notes of Sermons preached by Various Persons 1661 Norton, Thacher, Flint, Mather, Wilson, Ailing or Allen" is written on the front cover. There is evidence of at least two pages torn/lost at end of book.
