Other note
Born in Greenock around 1640, he studied at Utrecht where he was friends with William Carstares. He was licensed by the Glasgow Presbytery in 1671, reported to the Synod for attending conventicles in 1574 and was denounced a rebel. He was called to Eastwood by the parishioners and privately ordained at Paisley in 1679, attending his first synod meeting in 1687 after the Toleration. He died in December 1700.
