Other note

Born about 1619, he was educated at Aberdeen (possibly) and then St Andrews, graduating from St Salvator's College in 1645. He was licensed by the Presbytery of At Andrews 1653, and ordained to the Barony in 1655. He was deprived by Privy Council October 1662 for disobeying the Act of Parliament regarding the keeping of a thanksgiving day for the Restoration. He refused an indulgence at Eaglesham in 1672 and was charged for holding conventicles in 1674. in 1679 he joined Richard Cameron in founding the Cameronians. He was tried for treason, found guilty and executed at the Cross of Edinburgh with four others, 27 July 1690.
