Funeral

Notes for a funeral on the death of a child. There is a note "inserted at p. 21 of N Moores", which suggests that this was once attached to another unknown sermon.

Note stating, "vide a printed one on the same". The sermon is followed by two blank pages.

Notes stating “vide p. 112 of Dr Comber in the [?] Office for the particular Day of judgement immediately after Death” “Vide p. 5 of the Test of Godlyness a Funeral sermon for the Day of Judgement”. Before the sermon is written: "Ecclesiaste 7 chapter latter end of the 2 verse" – “for the Judgement Day vide the beginning of the sermon on the Test of true Godlyness a Funerall sermon on P. Ashton”. The sermon is followed by two blank pages.

Sermon described as "On the death of the child of John Harris who dyed with the small Pox".

A note stating that it is "On the death of a child to Mr John Tremanheer of Helstone ". Followed by a blank page.

Note “Vide p. 101 of Dr Comb[e]r Part 4 the Causes why God dos afflict & c. Remedys & Instructions on them. For another sermon to this effect vide p. 92 of Dr Comber”. There are a numbers of corrections, including a section at the beginning “to be inserted at p. 28”. At the end of the sermon is included an extract from “p. 12 of the Art of Patience” entitled “some few instructions as to this particular when we are sure of an approaching Death”.
