On the upper part of f.23v, information is written about a sermon preached by a Mr. Hull on Matthew 11 on Feb 3, 1590; on the top of f.24r, the heading Exodus 17:8-11 is written. Both of these marginal notes are in a different hand than the main sermon and are crossed through.

The Bible text is identified as "Cant. 7. 1. ad finem cap.", i.e., Canticles 7 from verse 1 to the end of the chapter, which is verse 13.
The Bible text is difficult to read. The chapter and verse are clearly "3.1 ad finem", but the book is not legible. The first letter appears to be Z. If the text is indeed Zechariah 3, "ad finem" would take it to the last verse in that chapter, verse 10.
