The full title is as follows: ‘The funerall sermon of that Worthy Man of God Mr. Thomas Leadbetter, Minister of Gods Word at Hinckly in Leicester shire, preached to his people there upon yt Solemn Day (hence calld black Bartholomew 1662) …’ (see p. 202).

The full title of the sermon (see f. 53v) is as follows: 'A looking-Glasse for lawers, & lawiers: A sermon preached before ye Judges of Assise for ye countie of Devon in ye Cathedrall church of St Peter in Exon on ye 8th day of August: 1603: by George Closse maister of Artes, & preacher of ye worde of god at Black-torrington.' There is a Ramist table on the same page.
An academic sermon addressed to fellow clergy or to students. The sermon is dated by Lambeth Palace Library according to the references to the theologian Thomas Stapleton as living, and to William Whitaker's Adversus Thomae Stapletoni (1594).
Fair copy with minimal corrections in a secretary hand. According to the Lambeth Palace Library online catalogue, the sermon can be dated to the late sixteenth century, as the Marprelate tracts are cited.
Titled, "Concio ad clerum in synodo provinciali Cantuariensis provinciae ad D. Pauli. 20 February 1592/3". Potentially taken from a printed source as a secondary heading is given "[Num XIV] Chap. 9". Written in a very neat italic hand. This paper has been folded several times, and the name "Mr Goodwin" inscribed on what would be the outside when folded into a packet, so presumably the recipient or owner of these sermon notes.
