Other note

Although born in England, Collins was educated at Harvard, his father holding a post in the Congregational Church in Cambridge, MA. Returning to Britain, Collins preached in Scotland and later served as chaplain to General Monck. In the 1660s, he became pastor at Paved Alley, Lime Street in London. He also preached in Bell Lane, Spitalfields, and at Duke's Place, Aldgate, and lectured at Pinners' Hall. One of his sermons was published in 1663 and another was published anonymously in a 1683 collection.
