Precise date of birth unknown, but Pleasance was admitted to St John's College, Cambridge in 1646 at age 18. B.A. (1649/50), M.A. (1653) fro St John's, and fellow there (1650). Rector of Boldon, Durham, from 1655 until ejected in 1660. Licensed to preach as Presbyterian at Bishop Auckland, Durham in 1672.
