Contents Note

Sermon notes by Robert Pleasaunce. Written on the flyleaf is: "Robt. Pleasunce [sic] 1659" and "Ex Libris Isaaci Worthington". The sermon notes are dated 1658-1670. Someone has also written: “Among the Rectors of Boldon the above Robt. Pleasunce ranks as an Intruder in Hutchinson’s Hist. of Durham." The word “Intruder” is written in a space left for it, in red ink.

Material Features

The notes are extremely tiny. The pages are ruled on the left in very dark black ink.

Provenance

Purchased by James Raine of Durham in 1859 at a sale of books owned by "Revd. R. Wallis, Vicar of Scham."
