Apparently a descendant of John Davenport (1597-1670) who gave GEN MSS 202, Box 1, Folder 1 to the Yale Library in 1894. He is perhaps the Arthur Davenport (1818-1907) listed in ACAD, a priest who lived in England and Tasmania. A. B. Davenport is also the name of the author of A History and Genealogy of the Davenport Family, in England and America, from A.D. 1086 to 1850 (New York, 1851).
