George Curwen (also given as Corwin and Corwen) was born in Salem in 1683. He gained his degree in 1701 from Harvard College. Whilst he worked towards an advanced degree he was guest preacher at churches in the Salem Village parish. He married Mehitable Parkman after he finished his second degree. He was appointed as assistant at the First Church in Salem, assistant to Rev. Nicholas Noyes. He was ordained in 1714. He died in 1717.
