Other note
Born in Parkhead, Whalley, the son of Roger Kenyon. He was schooled in Manchester and admitted at the age of 19 to St John's College on 12 June 1648, gaining his BA in 1652/3, MA 1656, BD 1663. He was Rector of Slaidburn from 1659-1660 and then rector of Prestwich until until his death in 1668. He married in Prestwich on 15 May 1663, to Anne Holland, the daughter of RIchard Holland of Heaton. His son, Dr Roger Kenyon was physician to James II from 1690-1701, whilst living in exile in France. His religious position is unclear as he was from a Presbyterian family, and patronised by the same, but conformed to the Restoration of episcopacy and Prayer-book services.
