(old series: GEMMS-MANUSCRIPT-1622)
Title
Notebook containing sermon notes [of Revd Edward Kenyon, Rector of Prestwich, 1660-1668?]
Shelfmark
DDKE/Box 123/4
Creation Date
ca. 1660 - 1668
Contents Note

Undated preacher's notes and a few notes on language and logic, including potentially some on Hebrew.

Material Features

Octavo volume bound in brown leather. There is a note by "K" stating 'I believe the SERMON NOTES in this volume are in the handwriting of Rev. Robert Kenyon 1742-1787 Rector of Salford'. In this case the notes would be later than the scope of GEMMS. However, DDKE/Misc MSS/Box 2/4 and 5 are the same style of notebook which suggests that these notes are those of Edward Kenyon.

Provenance

From the papers of the Kenyon family of Peel Hall, Little Hulton.

Acquisition

The papers of the Kenyon Family came to Lancashire Record Office in three deposits, the first in 1951 and then two in 1995.
