The manuscript commences with a brief biography of Sibbes and a copy of his entry in the Register at Catherine Hall. On the first page in the top right corner appears "J. D. Denman, B.C.L. St John's College, Cambridge." Centred below are the words "Pickering Manuscript." The biographical information is followed by a title page reading "The Christians Armor Against the Feare off Death. Also The Christians' Preparation For Death With Divers Profitable Meditations" and dated to 1637. The 3 sermons are followed by a section of "Divine Meditations" that comprises the rest of the volume.
Duodecimo volume in a later binding. Denman asserts that the scratched-over name on the final page of the volume is Sibbes'. The date 20 April 1686 appears on this page.
