A notebook containing notes on sermons heard by Thomas Aldersley at Oxford from 1653-55. The sermon notes are in Aldersley’s hand. This appears to the seventh notebook of the twenty owned by Aldersey held at the Bodleian. There are fairly substantial notes on each sermon. The index (fols. 2-3) provides a short statement of the theme of each sermon (i.e. “a sermon touching ….”). Contains sermons preached by Dr. Henry Wilkinson (fols. 1-15, 25-30), Dr. John Wallis (fols. 15-20, 31-5, 53-9, 103-9, 141-5), Dr. John Conant (fols. 47-53), Thomas Cole (fols. 62-8), Rev. Dr. Henry Wilkinson (fols. 69-71, 82-3, 158v-157v), John Wilkins (fols. 77-81), Dr. Edward Reynolds (fols. 94-101), Dr. Henry Savage (fols. 109-12), and Dr. John Owen (fols. 113-17), among others.
