Burton.

Material Features

Small leather-bound volume with notes written from both sides.

Provenance

MS seems to have been begun by Robert Franklin to record 52 sermons by Richard Steele. This project was uncompleted, and his wife, Mary Franklin, turned the book around and used it to write her brief autobiography as well as the versified Psalms. The book was then inherited by Mrs. H. Burton (granddaughter of Mary Franklin), who used it for a diary in late 1782.
