Contents Note

The contents of this volume appear to be sermon drafts, written by the preacher, George Studdart. The sermons are preached almost exclusively in County Limerick, chiefly at Rathkeale, Kilpeacon, Awney, and Hospital. The drafts are lengthy, full treatments of their texts that contain many strikethroughs, additions, and deletions. The volume also contains prayers and notes on other Bible texts.

Material Features

Unfoliated and unpaginated. 193mm x 129mm. Calf leather boards. Decorated with a gilt stamp on the spine. Most of the versos are empty except for additions to the main text.

Provenance

On the flyleaf at the beginning of the volume, an inscription dated January 1895 by ____ Maunsell attributes the sermons to Rev. George "Studdert". Material on the back flyleaf mentions Richard Studdert and Alicia Maunsell, who is perhaps also the Maunsell mentioned on the front flyleaf.

Acquisition

Purchased by TCD at a Mealy auction on 21 November 1994.
