Contents Note

Two sermons written in a single, unidentified hand dating from the seventeenth century. The first sermon, preached by 'Mr Hunte of New Colledge', is in English; the second, anonymous sermon is in Latin. In between these sermons is a copy of Roger Ascham, Apologia Doctissimi Viri Rogeri Aschami (London, 1577) (shelfmarked as Bamburgh Select.60).

Material Features

Octavo. Late seventeenth- or early eighteenth-century full calf binding with double gilt fillets forming a border.

Provenance

Bookplate of Thomas Sharp (1693-1758), showing an armorial shield pendant hanging from a ribbon, lettered 'T. Sharp D.D. Preb. of Durham. Archdeacon of North.' on the front pastedown of the volume.
