Description
This notebook, attributed to John Warly (d. 1679), rector of Charlton, Kent, contains biblical passages, sermon notes, and commentaries on both religious and political matters, including the English Civil Wars. The language used is English, although there is some Greek. The first sermon in the notebook is based on Amos 5:13. Warly opens by stating that 'This text is vext w[i]th many false Interpretations'. The points within his sermon notes are frequently numbered. Some of the volume is written in reverse.
