The full title of the report is: 'The iudgement of Dr. Richardson Vicechauncellor & ye heades of Colledges in Cambridge concerning certaine positions deliuered in a sermon by Mr. Simson of Trinity Colledge afore his Ma.ty at Roiston. in October. 1617.' From ff. 57r until 61v, there is another report relating to the sermon in question, entitled 'The larger Censure of the aforenamed Sermon, followeth'.
A series of Ramist tables depicting the substance of sermons, c. 1547, preached at Stoke-by-Clare College (dissolved in 1548). Matthew Parker was dean of Stoke-by-Clare from 1535 until 1547.

On f. 1r, Richard Napier wrote the following: 'Dr: Bret preached at Aylesbury at the Byshops visitation last; in his sermon there had, hee deliuered this vitz. That Pope John the 22th denyed the im[m]ortality of the soule. In an other sermon at Aylesbury made by the same doctor in July last hee affirmed that hee would mayntaine against all gaynesayers That Papists dyinge papists cannot be saued; & that Papists are no Christians'.
Richard Napier has written that he '[l]ent to Mr Bingly vicar of Sawton docter Raynels booke & sermon vppo[n] Obandiah [i.e. 'Obadiah'] the p[ro]phet. Sept 4. 1615'.
