Other note

The DWL cataloguer has done an excellent job untangling the family relationships of the various clergymen members of the Allestree family. Charles Allestree was the son of William Allestree, gentleman of Derby. He matriculated at the age of seventeen at Christ Church, Oxford on 31 March 1671. He graduated B.A. in 1674 and proceeded M.A. in 1677. Allestree became vicar of Cassington, Oxfordshire in 1685. He became vicar of Daventry, Northamptonshire, in 1687, and held these posts until his death. He was buried at Cassington on 28 March 1707.
