Other note

Fled to America during period of presbyterian persecution and was minister at Swansea, Massachusetts. He was an intimate of Cotton Mather, the American Puritan pastor. Returned in 1687 via England, being appointed Minister of St Mungo's in 1690. Published a number of works including 'The Debate in the Ship' (1703).
