John Harper (Junior) was a fishmonger who frequented the church of St Margaret Moses, London. He made many notes on the sermons he had attended between 1626 and 1665 (see William Andrews Clark Memorial Library, MS.1951.011). According to Ann Hughes, the Harpers were 'the most prosperous family' in the parish of St Margaret Moses. However, there is no evidence that John Harper Junior attended university (Hughes, pp. 762-763). Harper was also a loyal parishioner of St Margaret Moses throughout the mid-seventeenth century (Hughes, p. 765).
