The presentation copy of this sermon is contained in BL Sloane MS 1460, which provides a more detailed description of the preaching. The scribe of said manuscript, John Dowglas, notes that the sermon took place on "the Secconnd Sonnday in Lente beinge the Secconde daye of Marche." The print editions do not give precise dates, making it difficult to verify whether the sermon took place on March 2 or March 10. Complicating matters, a consultation of the March 1550/1 calendar reveals that neither of these dates actually fell on a Sunday.
